Daisy didn’t ask for much from life, although she always seemed just a little disbelieving that there were no more hidden gravy bones to find. I could always talk to Daisy. I still can, but I wish that I could see her looking back at me and wondering what I’m on about. Daisy was already a firmly-established and well-loved member of the Brown family when I first met her in 2001. Other people knew her for much longer and much better. That makes them luckier than me and more privileged. Still, I feel hugely privileged to have been there as a grand old lady neared her departure. I am just one of many, many people who enjoyed Daisy’s company through the years. We all miss a wonderful companion. Sleep well, Daisy.
