When Sarah said she wanted a dog I was against the idea. But then you came into our lives. You were a rescue dog, we had no idea of your age or history, but we knew you were old and unloved. You were the gentlest cat imaginable. You showed your love with the loudest purr and I will never forget how you could look at me with your eyes tilted in my direction. You loved the younger cats as if they were your own kids and they, like me, miss you enormously. There is a huge hole in my life where you used to be. Strangely Smokey is now so different he is hardly recognisable as the cat who shared a 'childhood' with you. Enjoy heaven with Tigger and the others. I miss you Darling.

Winston, Two years ago Thursday I had to let you go. I know you were suffering and I was able to end that but it does not hurt any less.
